Engineering that
thinks. Strategy
that ships.

I work at the seam where engineering craft and business judgement meet: building AI systems that hold up in production, and products people actually use.

Technology in service
of something real.

I'm a software engineer with a computer science education from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Carnegie Mellon University, and the University of Hagen, plus an MBA from the Collège des Ingénieurs, where I led ML/AI projects at Merck.

I'm drawn to problems at the intersection of technical depth and real-world impact: too human for pure engineering, too complex for pure strategy. I think in first principles, build for durability, and try to stay honest about what technology can and cannot fix.

I'm also a former State Champion and National Qualifier in Jugend debattiert, which shaped how I think, argue, and communicate under pressure.

01
AI That Actually Gets Adopted
I design and build intelligent systems (Generative AI, agentic workflows, GraphRAG) with production constraints and organisational reality already in mind. The engineering decisions and the adoption strategy are the same conversation, not two separate workstreams.
02
A Fluency in Both Languages
I can walk into a boardroom and articulate the business case, then return to the codebase and make sound architectural decisions. Having both lets me keep the technical and strategic sides of a project aligned, before the gap becomes a problem.
03
Building with a Reason
The work I commit to tends to improve access or take real friction out of someone's day, not just move a metric. That focus is also practical: when you know exactly who you're building for, most of the hard trade-offs answer themselves.

What's pulling
my attention now.

The questions I keep returning to, in conversations, in research, in things I build on weekends. Not a manifesto. Just honest curiosity.

Agentic AI & Autonomous Systems
The shift from conversational AI to systems that plan and act. How do you build agents that are genuinely capable and genuinely trustworthy, without making them so cautious they're useless?
Sovereign & Enterprise AI
How organisations build real AI capacity on their own terms, without surrendering data, creating fragile dependencies, or ending up with a governance problem they didn't see coming.
Venture Building & Impact
Technology-enabled ventures aimed at structural problems in healthcare, public infrastructure, and access to services. Where commercial sustainability and social purpose are design constraints, not trade-offs.
Access & Representation in Tech
Who gets to build the systems that shape everyone's life. I care about mentoring people into this field who weren't assumed to belong here, because who's in the room matters more than most technical decisions.

PlacePulse · Stuttgart Dining Guide
Google Maps tells you the category. PlacePulse tells you whether to go: what a Stuttgart restaurant is good for, when to go, and the catch, with a score shown in context instead of another 4.5. Natural-language search and an honest, editorial take.
Project · Live
theorie.net · Driver's-Ed Learning Platform
Nearly half of Germany's car-licence learners fail the theory exam. theorie.net answers that with understanding over memorising: plain-language explanations, an adaptive study plan, and an AI tutor. Web plus native iOS and Android apps.
Project · Live
qaira · Walk-in Queue System
A live system that turns walk-in chaos into a calm, predictable queue: guests get an SMS the moment it's their turn, with wait-time prediction and a self-hosted notification stack behind it. Built from a real problem, running in production.

Builders Guide
A practical handbook for tech founders scaling from product-market fit toward unicorn scale, distilled from the experience of European founders and operators. I built the website and contributed as an analyst, running the interviews and research behind the content.

Medical Imaging AI Competitions Lack Fairness
A large-scale systematic study of 241 biomedical image analysis challenges across 19 imaging modalities, examining whether benchmark datasets reflect real-world clinical diversity and meet FAIR data principles. Conducted at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ).
Contribution · ACM UbiComp / ISWC 2017
Perceptibility of Smartphone Notification Types
A lab study with 36 participants on how reliably people notice ringtone, vibration, and LED alerts depending on where the phone sits: on a table, in a trouser pocket, or in a backpack. Vibration and ringtone won; the LED barely registered. Published at ACM UbiComp/ISWC 2017, cited 25+ times.

TrueQuote
A research-oriented B2B MVP where an agentic, multi-agent workflow takes on the retrieval and first-draft phase of a security audit, leaving the human expert to verify and sign off. Write-up coming soon.

Good conversations
start with a hello.

I enjoy talking with builders, researchers, and people working on things that matter. Always happy to hear what you're working on.
